Hey Guys! Today I’m reviewing the audiobook The Book of Dragons by E. Nesbit and narrated by Karen Krause.

There are several stories in this volume. They are for young children. Probably as young as 3-4 would enjoy up until middle school age. Fans of younger work would also enjoy these stories. I suppose I read the plot summaries wrong for this work, as I thought the stories would be a little more in depth and not be for such a young audience. I still enjoyed them, but I was a bit confused at first. They are interesting stories with morals tied in and a lot of pun references as well. I would give the content of this book a 4.5/5.

As for the narration, while I enjoyed all the different voices and ranges Krause was able to come up with, there were some that were grating on the ears. Every time she voiced a small child they had the most squeaky and high pitched voice I have ever heard. While the tone of her voice fit a young kid, the sound seemed more like an annoying cartoon than actual children. Her other voices though were just fine. Especially when she voiced mythical beings. I would have to give the audio a 4/5 just for the horrible children voices.

Overall I enjoyed listening to these short stories, and I think I’ll lend it out to my little cousins so they can enjoy. I would give this a 4/5 total.
