Paper Street Books & Comics April is here!!! I always love their boxes 🙂 This month’s theme is Luna & Terra. Luna, because of the moon and also their cat’s name. Terra, because of mother earth and April 22nd is Earth Day. They are celebrating their 1 year anniversary!
Item #1: Crystal Growing Cherry Tree by Copernicus Toys. I grew crystals as a kid in third grade. They didn’t really work out, so I’m hoping this works better. I think it will look so cute when done!
Item #2: Moon Prism Power Candle by Paper Street. Inspired by Sailor Moon. Smells delightful! Ingredients: Orange Blossom, Grapefruit, Mangosteen, Peach, and Egyptian Amber.
Item #3: Magnet that reads: “Fighting Evil by Moonlight.” by Paper Street. Looks so cool! Sailor Moon cat!!!!
Item #4: American Gods: Shadows #1 By Neil Gaiman, P. Craig Russell, and Scott Hampton. Rated 4.09 stars out of 5 on GoodReads. Shadow Moon gets out of jail to find his wife is dead. He then meets Mr. Wednesday, who employs him to serve as his bodyguard. This thrusts Shadow into the deadly world of the supernatural, where ghosts of the past come back and a brewing war between old and new gods hits a boiling point. Sounds like a crazy story! I am always appreciative that they give me the first in a series. I can’t wait to read this 🙂
Item #5: Wires and Nerve by Marissa Meyer. Rated 4.26 stars out of 5 on GoodReads. This graphic novel is about Iko, the android from the Lunar Chronicles. She goes on a dangerous and romantic new adventure. And gets help from Cinder and the Lunar team. Rogue packs of wolf-hybrid soldiers threaten the peace alliance between Earth and Luna, Iko decides to hunt down the solders’ leader. She works alongside a royal guard, who forces her to question everything she knows about love, loyalty, and her own humanity. While this sounds awesome I’m assuming I’ll want to read the Lunar Chronicles before. Just so I can get a backstory on Iko. Good thing I own the series lol.
Item #6: Avengers of the Moon by Allen Steele. Rated 3.69 out of 5 stars on GoodReads. Curt Newton was raised by a robot, android, and disembodied brain of a renowned scientist. They have kept his existence a closely guarded secret since the murder of his parents. Curt’s curiosity leads him into a plot to destabilize the Solar Coalition and assassinate the president. The only way to capture the mastermind is for Curt to become Captain Future! So a novel form of a comic book. If the writing is well done this might go over well for me. If not, well we’ll see 🙂
